Bark & Brew raises nearly $900 for the Dog Park

More than 70 dogs and 100 people braved the heat to attend the 3rd Annual Bark & Brew at Chips Restaurant ~ raising nearly $900 for the Ankeny Dog Park.

Guests enjoyed demonstrations by Canine Craze Performance Center and Tri-County Boarding Kennel, doggie treats from Brown Dog Bakery, nail trimming by Pawsitively Pampered, refreshments from Chips and Doll Distributing, "yard patrol" by Scooper Troopers, plus services and prizes by area pet businesses.

The 7.5-acre Dog Park north of SomersbyPark is slated to open later this summer while fundraising efforts continue. Upcoming events include a Paw Spa at the Bark Zone, July 24, and BarktoberFest at Chips Restaurant, October 9.

The Ankeny Dog Park is made possible by the City of Ankeny, private donations and generous sponsors Community State Bank, AgVision Agribusiness Software, Ashley’s Pet Sitting Service, Bark Busters Home Dog Training, Brown Dog Bakery, Canine Craze Performance Center, Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital, 4 Paws Unleashed, Robidoux Country Kennels, Snyder & Associates and Tri-County Boarding Kennel.
